This’s a first time of PhD class Faculty of Education, Kasetsart University. I was so excited to attend the class. This subject is Information and Communication Technology in Curriculum and Instruction, which study of innovations, information and communication Technology in curriculum and instruction including advanced educational website development for curriculum and instruction leaders.

The 1 st period, I received some knowledge according to course syllabus. I knew about course description, objectives, learning activities, project assignments, and learning resources so on. I’d like to say “thank you” to my regarding lecturer (Associate Professor Dr. Maturos Chongchaikit). She gave me many techniques to create useful gadgets on my blog. I have understood the word “Blended Learning”; refers to a mixing of different learning environments. It combines traditional face-to-face classroom methods with more modern computer-mediated activities. According to its proponents, the strategy creates a more integrated approach for both instructors and learners. Formerly, technology-based materials played a supporting role to face-to-face instruction. Through a blended learning approach, technology will be more important.

Moreover, I was practiced skill via internet system. I’ve learnt on KU-LMS: MAXLERN; is a personal weblog, and personal website on pirun.ku.ac.th. These led me to handle my blog on blogger.com, where e-portfolio is kept and PIRUN website. I have to provide time and idea to build up my project and prototype. This may be more benefits or advantages of the teachers to use this innovation in applying on actual learning performance in school.

Furthermore, my attitude is shifted towards ICT to be pessimistic since my skill on ICT was quite bad in the past. But, at the moment I think they are many useful and fun learning activities. For instance, posting suggestions and/or clips on face book, posting knowledge resources on blogs and then let the students posting and sharing idea towards the topic is set. In my opinion, I think it’s a better learning style for teachers and students as ICT is a part of their life nowadays. One important educational trend is the preparation of students to be good citizen in Association of South East Asian Nations: ASEAN, which will formally take place in 2015 soon. I usually hope to gain many new things from lecturer both in and out classroom.

Today’s the 2 nd time of the Information and Communication Technology in Curriculum and Instruction class. I had learnt the method how to create my website on PIRUN web site where is a home page of my IT learning; FB, E-Portfolio and E-mail so on. I am able to post many gadgets on it. Such a useful web site I had built up in the class. I’ve gained many techniques to create web site for instance hoe to save the site as etc. I had known the way to search in advanced ex. the top 10 global trends in ICT and Education.

There are 10 Global Trends: Mobile Learning, Cloud computing, One-to-One computing, Ubiquitous learning, Gaming, Personalized learning, Redefinition of learning spaces, Teacher-generated open content, Smart portfolio assessment, and Teacher managers/mentors. These trends are expected to continue and to challenge many of the delivery models fundamental to formal education as it is practiced in most countries.  It will be interesting to reflect back on this list at the end of the year to see which ideas have gained the most traction; and what new ideas will make a list for 2011

In the afternoon, I have shared idea with my PhD classmate concerning project on the title and objective. I have gained many suggestions of instructor to rewrite it again and then send the revision to instructor again. My hopes of attending the class; it will assist me to use IT/ICT in my learning activity and then transfer the knowledge to others in school.

1 st July, 2012

The personal proposal discussion on the title and the objective is took place in the fresh morning section. We had learnt some educational research techniques. The assistant professor assisted me to adjust clearly my title and objective.

I had gained more details about the research on the development. My title project is Development of Online Learning Resources on Geography Strand Using Weblog for Social Studies, Religions and Cultures Content Area, Grade Range 4. Moreover, I had recognized the term of ‘Online Learning Resources’ is referred to the supplements for learning via online. The word ‘Content Area’ is called the group of subject in each branch of science. In addition, I had received the common specific educational vocabulary on ‘Grade Range 4’ is called for the educational rage; Mattayomsuksa 4-6 (in Thai). In summary, I have got plenty of talent on the way how to write the objective be relevant to the title project.

In the afternoon section, my personal website is furnished completely which is continued from the former process. This curiosity leads me to explore further information by surfing on internet from now on.

The class began in the early morning at 9 AM. Aj. Maturos made me create my website. I had studied the process how to insert flash files, midi sound files, and adjust site page on the auto slice on menu bar of Photo Impact Program. These techniques may be the educational benefits especially using the tips for instructional Medias in my subject or the content area. After I had gained advanced knowledge concerning ICT, I could transform to my colleagues in my school as well.

In my opinion I am sure that at the present numerous online learning is quite more popular than the past. It is very continent for everyone both in and out school. Moreover I had learnt method to create the pages underneath the main page (is called ‘homepage’) by using the same conceptualization in each page. I had used many programs to create my website; Photo Impact for index, Dreamweaver to link the page to classmate, even PowerPoint for basic homepage creation. I can make a link between homepage to my classmate’s websites. My comprehension is clearer than I had studied before as my early childhood. Therefore I am able to design a lot of educational benefits that reflect or describe some academic talent or advanced knowledge online.

In my summary educators ought to apply more ICTs in Education include; curriculum, learning activity, and evaluation/ measurement. For instance, teachers/instructors can develop the blogger as online learning resources in each content area as much as possible in school and use many useful clips on YouTube by coding on the website, and writing on html or JavaScript so on. For next time, I hope to learn more tips about educational techniques which I can apply in my profession.

It began at ‘TQF: Thai Qualifications Framework for Higher Education’, we listened to the some comments of the lecturer about it; some are good and some are bad. By the way, we were going to emphasize on using ICT in education; web 2.0 and 3.0, then I can compare the difference in term of ‘learning’, ‘teaching’, and ‘learning management’ which are relevant to the teacher or  instructor and the students in the 3 types of the format of Thai education; formal, informal, and non-formal one.

In term of ‘Information Literacy’, there are 8 proficiencies in Information Literacy; #1: Know What I Need #2: Select the Best Resources #3: Develop a Search Strategy #4: Retrieve What I Need #5: Evaluate What I Find #6: Organize What I Select #7: Treat Information Ethically and #8: Explore Information Landscapes. One of them is to select the Best Resources (#2), to identify and select appropriate information resources by: recognizing the variety of information formats; considering the costs and benefits of acquiring needed information; selecting the appropriate resources for searching and understanding their limitations. Thus, this is important for integration in this subject: Information and Communication Technology in Curriculum and Instruction, using the main concepts of selecting the ‘Best Resources’ to my project and prototype.

Is it important in classroom without teacher or instructor by using technology instead? In my opinion, technology cannot socialize mind of human being but it is very convenient for digital age, blended online should be more appropriate than the former one. In addition the special gadget of learning today was creating the speech voices via ‘voki’, such an amazing experience I had studied.
